CALL-OUT: Hot Key Books Young Writers Prize 2014

Submissions to the third annual Hot Key Books Young Writers Prize is now open.

For this year's competition, Hot Key Books is teaming up with the online writing community Wattpad in search for unpublished, unagented yet promising young authors who write for a teen audience.

The deadline for submission of entries is on August 16, 2014, and the announcement of the winner is on April 2015. The winner will receive a £10,000 worldwide publishing contact with Hot Key Books.

The panel of judges will include TV and radio presentor Jameela Jamil, journalist Tom Huddleston, author Maureen Johnson (13 Little Blue Envelopes, Girl at Sea), and 2012 Young Writers Prize winner Katie Coyle (Vivian vs The Apocalypse).

CALL-OUT: Cordillera Creative Writing Workshop 2014

The University of the Philippines Baguio will be holding the Cordillera Creative Writing Workshop this year on October 26-31, 2014.

Open to all-first time writers of children's literature, applicants must submit three (3) poems or one (1) short story on or before August 30, 2014.

Established in Thailand by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the Organizing Committee of the SEA Write Award, in collaboration with the SEA Write Network and the Mahidol University Faculty of Liberal Arts, the ASEAN Young Writers Award is an annual literary prize given to promising young writers in Southeast Asia.

Alternating between fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, this year's competition focuses on short stories.

The prize is open to writers aged 15 to 24, who are nationals of the ASEAN member countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam).
